ExxonMobil engineered a new diesel fuel with multiple efficiency benefits for the commercial trucking industry. The challenge for Digital Image was to represent all of the fuel’s benefits in a clear and digestible manner. An ideal use for CGI Animation is demonstrating something that is difficult or impossible to do otherwise. Our storyboards aided the editing and finalization of the script, allowing us to work up an animatic for timing and composition. Final CGI animations were edited into a final piece with the appropriate branding and supers.

Modular Data Center Solutions from Kratos Modular Systems Division – Gichner Systems Group. These fully customizable pre-fabricated modules are secure, scalable, rapidly deployable and highly efficient. To demonstrate this, Digital Image created this CGI animation to be included within a product video.
Merrill Technologies Group wanted to showcase the capabilities of their Mobile Lift System specifically for the defense industry. Digital Image enhanced existing imagery by creating CGI elements, digital compositing and retouching. We used the images when creating marketing materials including a video, brochure, banners and a website landing page.
Digital Image helped the United States Military Academy, commonly known as West Point, to update and unify their branding. The goal was to create an animated logo intro for use in their videos, and to carry that look into all of their other marketing materials. To do this, we digitally modeled the West Point crest from photo reference.
We did not have access to the actual crest, so we directed West Point to take a series of reference photos for us to work from.

We modeled the crest in 3D and textured it to reflect the hand-carved and hand-painted look of the physical wooden crest. Dramatic lighting and slow, smooth camera motion were used to capture all of the fine detail throughout the animation and to evoke the strong sense of history, pride and tradition of West Point. Rendered still images were created from the 3D scene as well. The animation and images are now used throughout West Point’s video, website and printed materials. CLICK HERE TO SEE VIDEO

Digital Image worked with the staff of HGTV’s weekly broadcast series “Hidden Potential” to visualize how average home interiors could be transformed into inviting upscale living spaces with the right design plan using CGI animation. Focusing on 3 different options per episode, we worked with the show’s interior designers to bring their vision to life in 3D. We modeled custom structures and furniture, and rendered out walk-through animations complete with realistic materials and lighting. At Digital Image, we were able to develop a pipeline for a project of this size very quickly; training artists with minimal architectural design experience to produce this type of work, and consistently meet all the needs of the client.
Working several months ahead of air-dates to meet tight weekly approval deadlines, Digital Image was able to meet and even come in ahead of schedule on many occasions. This allowed us to populate the show’s library with episodes ready on demand, so that even with timing setbacks on down the line, there would still be episodes ready to broadcast each week during the television season.
